I buy this book for everyone who is a woman or does or might want to sleep with a woman. I have gifted more than a dozen copies. This is an absolute must for anyone who comes in intimate contact with a woman or non-binary person (including themselves!). The book is trans-inclusive but not cis exclusive. Although it is clearly written with the woman for woman crowd in mind, my polyamorous and hetero friends have all found something useful. Every person I know who has read this book is having better sex (seriously, a 100% success rate) and many are finding the communication skills advocated in this book are crossing over to non-sex situations and improving the relationship holistically. A broad swath of topics are covered and most questions you’re too embarrassed to ask are answered.Admittedly, the road trip narrative sort of bumbles along (sometimes awkwardly) but is easily forgiven for the wealth of cleverly imparted knowledge. While this could be considered a manual of sorts, I find the wit, word play, and casual writing style make it just as enjoyable for everyday reading. Sometimes I leave it out as a coffee table book. I also must say that no other book (or any source that I know of) is as honest about the realities of intimacy or normalizes bodies as well as this one, and for that alone it is worth its considerable weight in gold.
Love this book. A little heavy-handed with the analogies sometimes, but it's a WONDERFUL, entertaining, hugely informative, and very sex-positive book. Inclusive of narratives of many different types of people by gender, body type, profession, orientation. It has both breadth and depth of content, but is easy-to-read. I would recommend this for ANYONE having sex with anyone female-identifying (whether cis, trans, neither, or intersex!). Add this to any sex educator's library.
I wish I could send this book back in time to my younger self. The chapters on flirting and consent plus all the great content and examples about communication would have been so helpful. But, good news, they're totally helpful now too!Allison Moon has wisely intuited that some of us learn better with pictures, some with facts, some from stories -- and some us work best with all three. Plus she's created a book that's very trans and bi inclusive and doesn't use the phrase "lesbian sex" to describe all the sex happening between two or more women. The interweaving of story, guest articles, text and pictures makes it fun and easy to go through and the content is phenomenal.
My wife is trans and we got this book to help with diffrent aspects of her transition. It has a welth of information! I now recommend it for anyone who is sexually involved with a woman, trans or not!
Being bi I have experience with guys but was nervous about what the heck to do with the ladies. This book was recommended to me by a sex educator and I'm so glad I bought it. It also talks about how to bring up difficult topics to your partner and is very trans inclusive. I highly recommend this book if you're entering the lady sex world.
Have you ever wanted a fun way to learn about sexual education? This is one of the best sex ed books I have ever read.Not only was it informative, but it keeps you fully engaged and you want to continue pushing through to find out more information. Another thing that is great about the book, it covers a lot of topics and gives you options. A lot of books are focused on one thing or the other. This of course is called GIRL SEX 101, but there is a push that explains GIRL may not mean just one kind of person. I love that. Thank you Allison for creating such an amazing book, I look forward to more of your work!!!
This is the kind of book I wish I had when I was first coming out. Written in a clear and engaging style, this book is a great, non-judgmental and inclusive examination of the many ways to have safe and pleasurable girl sex.
Great for all genders and sexualities! The author teaches consensual honest communication in a super approachable way. So glad my friend recommended this book. I think everyone could benefit even that one guy who gave a one star review bc he didn't realize gays would be mentioned. 😂 this could actually help him a lot but he stayed sleeping on it.
