This will sound very nit-picky - but if I had been paying attention when I purchased this - I actually wouldn't have. I am very visual, and prefer cookbooks that have pictures. As a brand new Vegan - this is critical for me. I am less likely to go out on a limb and try new recipes, if I can't see what it looks like. This one only shows one pic per section, at the beginning for one of the recipes in the section. I got the "Fuss-Free Vegan" cookbook by Sam Turnbull at the same time. Now THIS cookbook is AMAZING. It delivers in every way. If you are new to veganism like me - GET IT.

Mine came today and I poured through it! First, I love food and love to cook. This book is amazing! Well done Dustin❤ Great recipes and great intro's for each chapter and each recipe. I learned to love food and cooking from my Grandma and when she passed I declared each week I would honor her by making a new recipe each week and called it What Would Grandma Rita Make (WWGRM)...well here is to What Would Dustin Make. I am going to try a recipe each week. I mean you had me with anything with coconut milk. My mouth watered reading about lentils, butter nut squash risotto,savory granola,shaved cabbage and brussel sprouts with mustard sauce and black bean taco chili. I cannot wait to try! I have pages earmarked! Take this as a huge compliment from a ravenous carnivore who loathes meatless Monday at the work cafeteria. Kudos to you on a great cookbook.

I ordered this cookbook and It does have many recipes. Disappointed to find that there are hardly any pictures. At the beginning of each chapter, there is a picture of the food the chapter represents.(like kale for greens or grains for grains) Other than that, there are very few pictures of the recipes themselves, maybe one per chapter. I am very new and inexperienced at plant based foods and being a visual person, I would like to see what looks appetizing to try, as that's important to me in trying new recipes, I will never use this book so it was returned.

Hmmmmm.....my understanding of "vegan" is no animal products. Imagine my dismay when I saw recipes within the first several pages calling for Parmesan cheese, butter, or mayonnaise....☹️

This cookbook is fantastic! I am not vegan, but have been trying to get more veggies in my diet and this book is the perfect tool for doing just that. Easy, assessible recipes without the need for fancy ingredients but does not skimp on variety or complexity of flavors. I also love the layout and how the chapters are divided by general ingredients first and then broken down further into meal type and specific ingredients in the back. The favorites I've made have been the Chickpea Hush Puppies, the Kentucky Baked Cauliflower, the BBQ Hawaiian Tofu Bowl, and the Churro French Toast! (Yes, Churro french toast! Stupid tasty!). Great for home cooks and experienced chefs alike!

Whether you are new to plant-based eating and need approachable breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert ideas with easy-to-find ingredients or if you have been vegan forever and want new, simple go-to recipes (especially for those busy days), this cookbook is a MUST HAVE! It has clear, foolproof instructions and the fanciest tool used is a slow cooker, so you do not need to be a chef with a gourmet kitchen to end up with a delicious meal or dessert. The icing on the cake are the recipes for vegan kitchen staples like mayo, sour cream, and other dressings and sauces. There are also quickly searchable icons for gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free dishes, as well as recipes that take 30 minutes or less! I have a sweet tooth, so my favorite recipe so far is the salted coconut-almond fudge! Happy eating!

Being both gluten free and vegan it can be tough to find a cookbook that fits the needs for both easily, or that doesn’t require a lot of time to work out swaps and modifications that would work. I love that the recipes are flagged in this book. I also really like the additional tips at the ends of the recipes, it gets the creative juices going for other modifications that may work.I agree with other reviewers in regards to the visuals. I’m also a very visual person so I really enjoy when there is an image of the dish alongside the recipe. More images would have made the cookbook that much more enjoyable.However, visuals aside, this is a great starter cookbook for vegan eats. But, it’s also really handy for those of us that have been vegan for awhile to have a less involved recipe to pull out. I’m looking forward to trying many of the recipes (or sections - hello avocado and lentils), and have bookmarked some to get started with.

Great functional recipes..favorite easily adapted for vegan Probably too much sugar and oil for some...but practical for families.Good ..
